A sighing wailing blast-
A sunsets' crimson streak;
A curlew screaming past.

A pine-tree gaunt and tall
Bent by the wind & snow-
A torrents' foaming fall
Far on the rocks below!

A moss-grown Cross and tomb.
Lost in the woodland deep.
The twining roses bloom-
Where one lies still in sleep...

A stormy day's calm close-
When wind & tempest's cease...
A life of storm & woes-
A then... a sudden Peace...
